"Alone" or "The Last Goodbye, vs.2" by Lisette- all comments to: Lisette_1@mailexcite.com All the usual legalese: nothing here is of my own creation. Goliath and his crew belong to Buena Vista and Disney. It's a really great show and I just am showing my enthusiasm by writing about it. In no way will a profit be made from this. Of course I need to dedicate this to a lot of people, even though this intro will probably be longer than the story itself. Mainly I need to thank Merlyn, which I'll explain why in more detail in the next paragraph. Also, to the clan le' femme... Skydancer, Firedancer, Leia Morgana, Pendragoness, and Shadow Gargole. Also, thanks to everyone who's encouraged me and written me such great letters! Of course, to great writers like Tina Price and Shadow Master.. love your fics! Everyone... thanks!!! There's not enough room to mention you all and I'm really sorry! (christine morgan, wayne seely, phoenix....etc.) Okay, just so everyone knows, this isn't my baby. You see, I received a copy of my good friend, Merlyn the Mad Mage's first fic. It was awesome, but it really got me thinking of how if I had written about the subject matter, the story would have turned out remarkably different. So, this is her idea with my own style. You'll probably like her fic more, just cause it's awesome, but Merlyn and I decided to post ours on the same day, to give everyone the other side of the coin, so to speak. Warning, this isn't anything like my last fics and has nothing to do with the Talika line.. just a warning! So, voila... Alone - The Last Goodbye vs.2 She was alone, all alone. When she had awoken, she found herself amongst her loved ones. Yet no matter what she did, she couldn't get their attention. It was like she wasn't even there. Her parents, Derrick, Beth, Maggie, the labyrinth clan, Captain Chavez, Matt, the guys from the precinct, and even Xanatos was there. Yet no one would acknowledge her presence. Now everyone was gone. They had all left her here, all alone The day had turned darker until storm clouds lined the sky. As the sun fell below the horizon, the clouds finally opened up, letting forth a torrent of rain. She was cold, in this dark place, lightning crashing all around her. She was cold and all alone. Suddenly Goliath pounded to the ground beside her. "Goliath!" Elisa yelled. He ignored her also. "I love you! Why won't you answer me!" Sighing dejectedly, Elisa gave up and stepped beside him to watch her love. Watch as he kneeled down. Rain dripped unnoticed down his mighty frame. By now his hair was limp and dripping down his back. Reaching out, she tried to run her fingers through it, like she always did before, but found she could not. "NOOO!!!!" Goliath roared into the night sky, making Elisa jump back in surprise. "Why did you take her from me? Why?! Elisa.." Goliath whimpered. It was then that Elisa realized that it wasn't only rain that dripped down his cheeks, but tears as well. "No, Goliath... I'm here," Elisa whispered, tears dripping down her face as well. "My love," Goliath moaned, rocking back and forth, cradling his arms around him. "Goliath, I'm here... why won't you answer? Why can't you see me!" Elisa screamed. Watching the mighty gargoyle do this was breaking her heart. "Elisa," Goliath sobbed, dropping his head on the fresh dirt before him. "I couldn't even be here as they put you to your final resting spot," Goliath whispered. With Xanatos' help, the clan had paid their final goodbyes to Elisa last night. With obvious reasons, they weren't able to attend her funeral that day. Still, when Goliath had awaken, he soared without another word to his clan to her final resting place. "You can't leave me now, not now! There was so much left undone, not said... NO!" "Goliath," Elisa sobbed. Shaking her head, she knew it was true. She was dead. The idea had started to form earlier as she watched a casket being lowered to the ground, her family crying as they watched. Still, she wouldn't accept it. It hd to be a mistake. But now she knew it was true. "No, I don't want to be dead! Take it back God, let me wake up! This has to be some horrible dream... let me wake up! I can't leave him now!" Elisa pleaded to the heavens. Dropping to her knees, she cried beside her love, unable to comfort him and he unable to comfort her. "Why does life insist on doing this to me.. why must it always take my love from me.. NO! Bring her back! I loved her more than I ever did for Demona... Why didn't you take me instead!" Goliath whispered softly, running his hand over the soft dirt. But the shooter hadn't taken him instead. The stupid Quarryman had taken his shot very deliberately. Then Goliath had to watch the blood drain from his love's lifeless body. Even then he knew that she was gone. His love was gone and he did not even get the chance to say goodbye or say any final words to her. She died because she had dared to love one not of her own species. "The humans shall pay for this! For taking away my love!" "But Goliath, I'm right here!" Elisa yelled, wanting to shake him as hard as she could till he understood. "I love you Elisa," Goliath whispered, the tears dripping from his face. Getting to his feet, he climbed atop a nearby tree. "No Goliath, don't leave me here all alone!" Elisa screamed. As Goliath turned to face the grave below, Elisa hoped beyond all hope that Goliath had finally heard her pleas. Instead, she realized she was sadly mistaken as Goliath roared as one did when their heart was broken, "Elisa!!" Then he jumped into the night sky. "NOO!!! Don't leave me here all alone. I love you Goliath! Please, don't leave me here all alone..." Elisa whispered to the departing figure, the tears dripping down her cold face. THE END P.S. Okay everyone, now I can say that this was the way that I imagine Elisa's death would go. I love Merlyn's story in the fact that she made the funeral and her death seem natural, good, and something perfect that should happen at that time. Unfortunatly, I can't be that optimistic with funerals. If anyone close to me should die, this would be the way it would happen. I wouldn't be happy for them, I would be selfish and want them to stay with me. If I died, I wouldn't be ready to go, I'd demand to stay behind with my loved ones. Yes, in this story, Elisa was cut down in her prime.. killed before her loved ones. If the character of Elisa Maza could die, this is the only way I could picture her death. Then again, that's "if" the character could ever grow old and die. In my little universe, the characters of that show will *never* grow old and die.. unless I'm feeling sick and demented that day! :p Merlyn, I love your fic, but it could never work for me.. only the truly privileged and sane get your type of death... my deaths are violent and horrible.... then again, my friends don't usually consider me sane... :)
