SEVENTEENTH CENTURY September 1646 Terra is brought through time to this year. She is in shock from the car accident, and learns she cannot return to her old life for fear of changing events which MUST take place. As a consolation, Sharm offers her a new start. Terra appears at the door of Drake Castle one late, rainy night, and the night watchman takes pity on the rain soaked woman, and they give her food, board, and new clothes. Sharm introduces her to gargoyles and fairies. She takes a special eye to one gargoyle in particular. (Phantom5) August 1647 Demona arrives at Drake Castle. She speaks to the clan leaders about the danger humans pose. Some believe her and follow, some are swayed by her opinion, but remain in the castle clan, others flat out disagree. Terra, a human, was utterly ignored and shunned by the followers of Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir. Terra would remember their attitude. (Phantom4) May 1648 Terra pops the big question to the gargoyle Padrecor. They are married, despite the harassment and despisal of Terra on the part of the followers of Demona and Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir. When Padrecor first sees her on their wedding day, they are both shocked to discover Sharm has transformed Terra into a gargoyle. They become mates. (Phantom4) 1651-1662 Terra receives the name Tutela from the Spanish Ambassadorial Emissaries, and her mate is called Padrecor. The hatchling Lisonja is hatched, and found to be identically colored to Macaren. January 1659 Malcora hatches, first called MalCorazon by the Spanish Ambassador Malcora bit his finger as he was holding her. Demona, Queen of the Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir gargoyles, picked up the name with affection, calling her Malcora, and the name stuck. Malcora trained in all varieties of battle skills, growing up, by her choice, from the Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir. Demona herself finds the hatchling's spirit indomitable, and would at times instruct the little gargoyle herself. Tutela continue to lay and hatch eggs, although none of these were Terra's in the future, she finds herself happy in her new life. The Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir becomes suspicious of the humans after a quarrel between young Lisonja and a human. Lisonja volunteers to wear human skin long enough to search out the motives of the humans. She helps a young man called Joseph to power, and they become lovers. However, on the day Joseph was to marry her, Lisonja was returned to gargoyle form. Joseph remained in love with her, but spurned his affections for another, Macaren the gargoyle. Malcora, having achieved high honors in battle skills, begins to study sorcery. An angry human male spits in Malcora's face. Malcora returns the favor, and is forced to face being put to Shame by the humans. Eyes glowing with anger, she goes and swears fealty to Demona. In return, Demona lifts the girl up to the highest ranks of the Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir, knowing how deep Malcora's determination and anger ran. Tutela did not contend with her daughter's decision, letting her follow whatever path she chose, but cautioned her many times about the path of hatred. May 1696 Ironically, when the human Joseph became infatuated with Malcora, she found herself experiencing such feelings for the first time with him. Their relationship was suddenly terminated when Malcora allowed her feelings to go too far, and she transforms Sir Joseph into one of her own kind, and he returns her gift with anger and contempt. The ruling council of Drake Castle decides that Malcora has been a problem waiting to happen, and decides that the best solution for their problems with Malcora is to eliminate her. She was only a gargoyle -- they had plenty more. The other gargoyles were ordered to burn her at the stake. However, Sir Joseph's anger had passed, and determined to prove he still loved her and to make the Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir see that not all once-humans were evil, he throws himself into the flames around Malcora, breaks her bonds, they embrace one another, and then are both turned to stone by the hidden fey Shakespeare, intent on collecting a favor from them in the future. (Phantom2,4) August 1698 The Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir and the clan of Drake Castle separate, the Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir leaves Drake Castle, taking with it a significant portion of Tutela's children and grandchildren. With the serious threat out of the way, the humans break out in civil revolt against pro-gargoyle leaders, smashing all the gargoyles remaining (including Tutela), except for the two non-living gargoyles Malcora and Sir Joseph, now a centerpiece in the main hall. A famous battle was waged between the rebel leader Rushen and the old pro-gargoyle king. They were fighting in the main hall where Malcora and Sir Joseph were. Sharm, seeing Malcora in danger, removed her spirit from the frozen stone into a an amulet around her neck. Malcora's stone form was damaged in the sword battle where the old king was slain, and Rushen claimed the kingdom. Rushen called changed the name of the castle to Rushen, and most of the pro-gargoyle sentiment was stamped out. (Phantom5) TWENTIETH CENTURY September 30, 1952 Michael Joshua Shelton is born. (Phantom10) March 21, 1954 Terra Christine Josephson is born in Provo, Utah to Mr. Thomas and Stephanie Josephson. July 1969 The Josephson family goes to visit relatives in Peru. Young Terra encounters Sharm while exploring a ruin deep in the jungle. December 1975 Terra meets Michael Shelton at a social event sponsored by their college. They are married a few years later. January 8, 1978 At a critical moment in fetal development, the yet unborn Christine Shelton's spirit and life force is displaced back in time 300 or so years by Sharm. However, Christine is returned almost simultaneously, by Sharm, having waiting up through the last 300 years for that moment. (Phantom4) March 21, 1978 Christyne Patya Shelton born, two weeks early and underweight because of her "spiritual" experience. (Phantom4) January, 1984 Terra first encounters a clan of gargoyles in need of help. Matthew Cadence Shelton is born. (Phantom10) January, 1989 Matthew meets The Unicorn in the Olympia forests of Washington state. (Phantom9) July, 1990 Keturah Shelton is born. May 27, 1991 Terra is killed under the axle of a semitrailer whose brakes had been sabotaged, coming down a canyon freeway, or so it appeared. What actually happened was this. Sharm, watching over her secret little project, knowing that Oberon had ordered some very specific things of Sharm, wanted to make these life changes as easy as possible on Terra. Seeing the accident in progress, Sharm removes Terra from the car by magic at a critical moment, and then transports them back in time three hundred years or so. May 27, 1996 One decade after her mother's demise, Christine Shelton supposedly meets a similar fate. Unbeknownst to her family, Christine actually escaped death because she had been transformed the night before into a gargoyle, and had run away from her college life. (Phantom1) February 19, 1998 The Shelton family, mourning Christine's loss, travel to California for a chance to get away to their favorite vacation spot. However, when young Matthew discovers a young gargoyle lurking around their campsite late one night, he becomes entranced searching for her for many days. Finally, one day the young gargoyle is caught by the dawn before she was able to return to her nest, and Matthew found her. However, when a rockslide nearly destroyed her, Matthew felt motivated to save her, but in doing so lost his own life as a result. That night, as the young gargoyle Tigris awoke, she discovered she had been saved from death by the young man, and trembling, flew the young boy's body back to her clan, the clan protected in the Sequoia National Forests by the fey Cassandra. Cassandra saw Tigris's sense of honor over the boy's loss, and grants Tigris's wish to have the boy brought back to life. Unable to directly interfere in the boy's life, she decrees that he will become a gargoyle, and be forced to have an eagle's head and wings to remind him of how it had happened, and what he had lost. Young Matthew undergoes the grueling, slow transformation. (Phantom4) The Clann na ochter oidhche bheithir departs from Cassandra's care in central California, traveling north with Christine's clan and young Tigris in their company. (Phantom4) August 16, 1998 While on a quest with Quarrymen and Hunters, the young gargoyle Tigris sacrifices herself in exchange Christine's younger brother Matthew's life. Not to many days after, Christine will tangle with Macaren, and then be transported to Avalon. Once on Avalon time speeds up rapidly. While spending a year or so on Avalon, three decades go by in the real world. However, Sharm's discovery of paradoxial magic had given Christine's first child, Tanya, the ability to "burn down the walls of time and space", and quite by accident the entire family was moved back in time to this same exact date. Now married and having a child in arms, the family goes on to reestablish themselves, and to teach their children control over their powers. (Phantom4-6) TWENTY FIRST CENTURY February, 2005 Having run away from the Castle Gorebash, young Matthew, as a gargoyle, encounters the clan near Atlanta, Georgia, not telling them he used to be human, and is accepted as a member of their ranks. They journey together for many years. He, and a should-warrior Char are slain during a battle and Christyne restores them without memory of the incident. She accuses Demona of having murdered Tutela's descendants from the very beginning, and casts a spell on her forcing her to interact with the wailing souls of those gargoyles she murdered. Demona's clan is forced from their current home, and take up residence at the Castle Gorebash. (Phantom7) May 2010 Sharm decides that now is the time to engage a quest to find young Matthew, who has been missing for 12 years. Sharm uses her paradoxical magic to give the shade of Terra/Tutela a form once more. Matthew is found living among Demona's clan under the name of Iolair, at Castle Gorebash. Demona and her clan are dispatched, and Matthew & Tigris are reunited - choosing to settle at Castle Gorebash. (Phantom6) The young couple is married, but the marriage does not last long. After a few months, the marriage deteriorates, and Iolair reveals his desire to become female. Tigris attempts to sexually assault him, and is forced to leave Castle Gorebash. Iolair attempts suicide at Tigris's rejection, and finally goes on a quest to discover what should be done about his gender issue. His gender is magically changed by the Oracle Circe. (Phantom8) August, 2011 The newly female Iolair returns to Castle Gorebash to discover a mixed reception. Some support him, some reject him. Tigris rallies Cassandra's clan, and they attack the Castle Gorebash. Tigris is slain by Christyne to settle the agreement. Iolair takes the name Tigris Euphrates in her honor. (Phantom8) January, 2020 Sharm suddenly disappears, and Tigris Euphrates travels to Avalon to investigate. She meets Erik, an eager young gargoyle from the Avalon Honor Guard clan, and together, Avalon sends them to Olympia, Washington to solve the riddle of angels in the thick Canadian rain forests. Once again, Tigris Euphrates encounters The Unicorn she met when she was little, and learns she is threatened. Tigris Euphrates is, herself, transformed into a Unicorn. Sharm is transformed by Oberon into a male as punishment. After defeating two Unseelie and the Weird Sisters, and Tigris returned to her usual gargoyle self, Erik and she fall in love and are married several months later. (Phantom9) April 24, 2034 As part of Michael Shelton's dying wish, he pleads for his family to undo one of his schemes against Christyne and her family, and meets his many grandchildren. In a surgical strike, the gargoyle strike at the hunters, but Tigris Euphrates's fourth child, Daisy Avalon, is slain by the hunters in the process of the battle. (Phantom10) 2049 The constitutional amendment is passed giving gargoyles the right to be American citizens. Tigris is raped by Jordan. The Utah and Olympia clans meet the Manhattan clan for the first time. (Phantom11)
